5 reasons why learning Korean is a good idea

Are you considering learning Korean, but still undecided? Or maybe you’re just curious about whether studying Korean is worth it or not. Well, wherever your doubts come from, I’m going to tell you why learning Korean is a good idea. Keep reading!

5 reasons why learning Korean is a good idea

1. The alphabet and the grammar are not difficult

While we have agreed that Korean is not the easiest language to learn, its alphabet, Hangul, is considered to be the most logical one, so learning it is relatively easy. Also, the Korean grammar has no verb conjugations, and the nouns have no gender. Because of that, learning Korean has certain advantages when compared to other languages such as, for instance, Spanish or French, whose grammar is far more complex.

2. Connect with more people!

Did you know that there are more than 70 million native Korean speakers across the globe? Imagine how it feels to have the ability to speak with that many people! Why, you may ask? Well, Korean culture is famous for being one of the most respectful, helpful, and welcoming, and Koreans are genuinely friendly people. They are so amazing that being able to interact with them in their native language makes learning Korean worth it.

3. Visit Korea and enjoy it to the fullest!

Korea has many landscapes, places, and spots widely known for their beauty and magnificence, so you definitely should visit this country! Can you imagine yourself communicating fluently with locals while you visit Seoul, Galpyeong, Seoraksan National Park, Gyeongju or Jeju Island? I’m sure you’ll be able to grasp so many more details and emotions and have the experience of a lifetime.

And, who knows? You may end up living there!

4. Korean culture is spreading

I’m pretty sure you’ve already heard about K-pop. You may even be a big fan of K-pop bands such as BTS. Blackpink, and EXO. This music genre has reached every corner of the world and has brought even more attention to other aspects and products of Korean culture, such as Korean dramas, movies, and fashion. Korean art and entertainment are here to stay, so learning the language that makes them possible will help you enjoy them even more.

5. More job opportunities

Learning a new language is always useful when it comes to getting a new job or being promoted. In particular, learning Korean is likely to help you to a great extent, as the country has become a very important player in the international sphere, as have its businesses. For instance, Korea is a key strategic partner of the US, and the economic relations between both countries are very strong.

So, no doubt! Learning Korean is a great decision, especially if you live in a country such as the US.
